Almost Christmas

It's been awhile since I've blogged about the kids. They've been doing well. Kaitlyn got her 15 month check up and weighs 18 pounds, 15 ounces and 23 1/2 inches long, if I remember correctly. She has the motor skills of an 18 month old since she's using a fork and spoon to eat with and can kick and throw a ball. The doctor wants us to work on body parts now. I told the doctor she knows the body parts if you hold up her clothes and she tries to put on her shoes.

Both her and Josh are enjoying the new daycare still and they haven't gotten sick too much.

Josh went in for his pre-op appointment with Dr. Chicola and he said he wants to wait and due the tubes later, possibly next month, after we complete the hearing test. He wouldn't cooperate when we tried doing the hearing test earlier this month. I'm hoping we can forgo the surgery all together!

Josh has become a huge fan of Christmas! He gets all excited when he sees Christmas lights. He gets really excited when he sees Santa! Santa had visited school and the teachers had to laugh at him. They said he got so excited and ran up to Santa while shouting Santa Santa Santa. I told him Santa will be coming in two days and will leave presents for him, so he's super excited. Kaitlyn is still oblivious to the whole holiday thing, so next year will be all new for her.

I'll try to post after Christmas, but if not, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Bye Bye

Kaitlyn has another ear infection, but the doctor and I are very impressed that she hasn't been to the doctor since September when she had pneumonia.

Tuesday night Boomer got put in timeout in his kennel.

Last night Josh thought I needed to go into timeout. He told me to go up against the wall and sit and stay! I asked what I did and all he would say is Stay! I told him he needs to go to timeout since he was climbing on the couch.

This morning Josh went in and helped me get Kaitlyn up and ready. I was changing her diaper and Josh was closing her bedroom door and waving bye. He called out "Bye"! Babycakes was laying down waving, blowing kisses and then she whispered "Bye bye"!!! This is the first time she said it and I'm so proud of her!

My little girl is growing up so fast it's amazing. Next thing I know she'll be putting me in timeout!

Halloween

It's been forever since I've posted and I'm sorry. Blogging takes a lot more time than I realized. Since I've last posted, Kaitlyn and Josh started a new daycare center and LOVE it!!!! They've been going for 3 weeks and Josh is still excited every morning to go to New School! He sometimes asks on the weekends, New School? He doesn't come home as tired and cranky as he did at La Petite and they have breakfast ready almost every day we get there. Kaitlyn is enjoying it too. They call her K K and I started calling her that too. She's responding really well when you call her name or Babycakes. If she's some where, she'll come find you if you call her. She's also started waving Bye and is blowing kisses now. Sometimes she'll even open her mouth up for a kiss!!!!

Jason, Judy and Charlie are all in Dallas and the boys are in Norman watching an OU football game. Charlie was able to get into a Skybox and entrance to a Tailgate party. I called Jason and he said Charlie was actually on the sidelines at the football game. I have no idea how he scored that, but he did.

I took Josh and Kaitlyn to La Petite today for their fall festival. Josh got his face painted, both kids decorated cookies, they played with bubbles and Josh won a cake doing the cake walk game. After that I bought them french fries for lunch and then it was nap time. I decided on pizza for dinner and when Josh got up from his nap we went and got it. I told them they could have cake with dinner, so they had dessert first, then pizza. I had to throw them in the tub after dinner and then we went to one of the churches for Trunk or Treat. Josh got a good bit of candy, but the biggest thing was the hay ride! A blue tractor pulled us and Josh LOVED it!!!!! He wanted to go again, but I had to tell him no. I let him have 3 pieces of candy tonight and told him he had to save the rest to show dad tomorrow.

I got both kids in bed and I'm heading there shortly. I may go jump in the tub and relax for a few minutes. Tomorrow's going to be another long and full day.

Happy Halloween!!!

Oops

So I've been pretty busy and feel bad for not writing in ages.

This weekend was spent with 2 kids attached to me almost non-stop. Neither wanted Daddy and neither wanted to share Mommy, so that caused lots of tears!

Friday night I gave Kaitlyn a bottle with half soy milk and half regular milk. That did not sit well with her! She woke up with gas pains twice. Poor baby girl. She got a good burp out the first time and then she had a big fart the second time she woke up. That fart must have been the key because she passed out until 730am!

Saturday brought a trip to the library and we checked out a few more books. Then Kaitlyn and I went to Sam's to return the car seat that neither of them liked. We then went to Toys R Us to check out their car seats, but I didn't see any that I cared for. Kaitlyn did find a stuffed puppy that she just "had" to have, so I bought it. She cuddled with it and is really cute when she does, so it was well worth it.

Then one of Jason's friends came over to watch the OU football game. He brought his 2 1/2 year old with him and Josh and her had to check each other out for a bit. They then played together. I did learn you don't mess with Josh and his crayolas. She started to color on his paper and fists went flying, on both sides. I had to get between them and it took some time to get them apart, but I finally did. Around 930pm Josh was asking to go to bed, so I got him down and Genevieve was still going strong. I went to bed at 10pm and she was still playing.

We got up to rain on Sunday, so that wasn't much of a fun day. We did get pizza and breadsticks for lunch and Josh loved the bread sticks. He ate a little pizza and Kaitlyn just eats everything, she's not picky.

Later we all went to Target and got 2 new car seats, so tee shirts, 2 baseball caps, socks for both kids and a toy for a birthday party on Saturday.

Josh then woke up this morning in a great mood. He went and pee peed on the potty first thing, then went and got some juice! Mommy was so proud of him. Then I put on some new socks that we bought yesterday and they are big boy socks. They come half way up his shins! He had to go show Daddy and he was so proud of himself. Jason took Josh to school while I got Kaitlyn ready to go get her 12 month shots.

I felt bad for her, but I know it's for a good cause. I don't want her getting really sick. I then took her to daycare and I was off to work.

After a good day at work, me and Angi, my co-worker, went and met an employee who's down from DC at McGuires for dinner. I had a petite steak and it was very good. We sat around for 45 minutes after dinner and just chatted.

Jason took the kids to Barnes and Noble to see Winnie the Pooh, but got there right as the person was getting ready to change out of the costume. I guess Josh was attached to Jason's leg, but kind of liked it. Kaitlyn was okay with Winnie, but not overly excited. Then he took them to Whataburger for dinner. I called them right as Kaitlyn knocked over Jason's tea, so he couldn't talk.

I got home in time to try and put Kaitlyn down for bed, but she wasn't ready. Her and Josh played for a bit until he pushed her over and she hit my computer chair. He's gotten pretty rough lately and I don't care for it, so we'll have to work on correcting that.

I got Kaitlyn asleep and then sat with Josh while he watched Handy Manny then it was off to the bathroom one last time before bed for him. He made big pee pee's and did his little dance! I laid in bed with him until he was done with him milk and I told him I had to go and he was fine with it.

Now it's time to go change out of my work clothes and watch some tv before bed!

Dogs- 3, Kaitlyn- 3

So I went to bed at 9:15pm hoping for a good nights rest. What was I thinking? Was there a full moon?

I opened the windows last night in the kitchen and 1 in the living room and turned off the A/C. This could be the reason the dogs had to get up 3 times last night starting at 11pm. They were up at 11pm, 12 am and 2am. They went outside and did their stuff and came back to bed. That's great seeing as though they didn't mess in the house.

Kaitlyn decided to wake up at 1am, 3am and 4am. The 4am was to change a dirty diaper and the other 2 were because of habit (?) or she was in pain. I gave her some milk and she went back to sleep with no problem.

Josh slept the whole night. He woke up and wanted to snuggle in his blanket and he watched The Hulk (a cartoon Jason taped for him that has the Hulk in it). He didn't want to get changed out of his jammies because it was cold, but he did it and was fine.

In the car on the way to school Kaitlyn decided she didn't want her shoes on. She kicked and rubbed them against her car seat until they came off. Next were the socks! She's too funny with that. Josh decided since sister wasn't wearing her socks or shoes he was going to take his off. Thankfully he only got on foot uncovered before we got to school. I carried them both in and the teachers laughed at them. I told them what happened and they thought it was funny. I have no idea how I'm going to keep socks and shoes on Kaitlyn.

Not another one

So I got a call from Daycare at 3pm. I said, which one is it? Ms. Barbara said Josh was throwing up. I asked if he had been coughing and she said the teacher said no. I packed up and went and got him. When I got to daycare I asked if it was just my kids that got sick so much and Ms. Barbara said I didn't have to take him to the doctor. We both felt he was probably coughing and threw up. I told him I had to go get his stuff and he was concerned that we were leaving Baby. I told him daddy was going to get her. With how Kaitlyn has been feeling and not knowing how Josh was going to be I didn't want to shoot myself in the foot.

We got home and you couldn't even tell Josh was feeling bad. No fever, no nothing. He did complain a few times that his belly hurt, but he never threw up. I'm not sure what's going on.

Jason got home and Kaitlyn was in a great mood. After dinner, which was ready when they got home, Josh and Kaitlyn played for a bit. I haven't heard her giggle so much in a long time. That was sweet music to my ears. She was running after Josh and his blanket and it was so cute watching her run.

They're both in bed, I took a nice warm bath and I'm about to go read my book. Hopefully I'll be done with it soon.

Spidey Josh

Poor Kaitlyn. I feel so sorry for her. Her teeth are bothering her so bad. I was able to get a few giggles out of her this weekend, but she mostly wanted to be held.

She did have her first taste of ice cream and LOVED it! It probably felt really good on her gums too. She did have some bad gas in middle of the night, so hopefully it doesn't bother her too much.

I went out while Josh was napping and went grocery shopping. While at Wal-Mart I found a Spider Man costume for Josh. I brought it home and showed Jason and he liked it but the mask. I told him, do you really think Josh will wear the mask? He said, good point. So after Kaitlyn went to bed Jason decided to show Josh his costume. He LOVED it!!! He tried it on over his p.j.'s and didn't want to take it off. I told him he could wear it to bed, but we had to change his diaper and take off his jammies. He slept in it and when he got up this morning he was in such a good mood because he was still wearing his costume. The bad part, he doesn't want to take it off for school.

We did do a family outing yesterday. We took the recycling to the recycling center! I'm so proud of us. I need to call our current garbage company and find out if they're going to start recycling soon and if not, we're changing, because I hate throwing recycling stuff away. We took a lot of cardboard boxes, newspapers and glass. I want to start with the juice bottles, plastics, so maybe this time I'll do that.

That's all for now. Let's see what fun we can have today!

Awsome day

I had a great day with the kids. Kaitlyn wasn't too cranky and I got some smiles out of her. She's very independent and can entertain herself for the most part. I enjoyed watching her today.

Josh is such a mama's boy it isn't funny. He fell down today and scrapped up his knee. You think he broke his leg from the way he carried on all day. He wanted mommy to hold him and be there for him. He didn't want to share me with Kaitlyn, but that's nothing new.

They both enjoyed pizza right before bed time. Kaitlyn had the crust and sauce only. Josh wanted more than the 2 pieces I had, so I had to heat up a 3rd piece. This was a first for him. Usually he doesn't eat pizza. This is good. Maybe we'll someday get away from Chicky and French fries.

Jason went out and I'm about to head to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be as uneventful as today. I will need to keep a diaper on Kaitlyn so she doesn't poop on the floor again. I also need to clean the tub. Poor baby girl! Mommy loves you though!!!

I forgot to write

I went out for dinner with my co worker and an employee and came home to kids fed and ready for bed. I have a great hubby! Both kids slept through the night and I was so relaxed that I watched some tv and forgot to write.

Kaitlyn's still drooling like a fool. She'd probably fill the bathtub with all the drool she produces these days. I feel so sorry for her. She hates the teething gel, but man does that help. We give her Tylenol, teething tablets, and teething gel and she's ready for bed. I would love to wave a wand and make all her teeth appear and cause her no pain! I think every mom wishes that.

Josh has been singing up a storm. He sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and No More Monkey's Jumping on the Bed. I need to take a video of that.

I'll write more tonight after all the events that go on today at school and home.

Josh was sick

I got a call from daycare at lunch saying Josh was throwing up and to come get him. Poor little guy. I got there and he was asleep. I took him home and he never once got sick. We're hoping/thinking it was from his flu shot he got yesterday.

Kaitlyn was in a good mood, but these days she hates to go to bed. Jason got her down and Josh and I went to the store to buy her some soy milk. Thank goodness for coupons! I saved $1.50 and used up my gift card and paid only $1.53 for 2 half gallons of soy milk.

I got Josh to bed around 9pm and I took a shower and read for a bit. I'm tired, but not sleepy. Maybe I'll go read some more. Hopefully Kaitlyn will sleep all night. She got up twice and Josh woke up once. Will I ever get a full nights rest ever again?

Too tired

I got 5 hours of sleep last night because Kaitlyn thought it was play time at 1245am and 445am. Both Josh and I had clean bills of health at the doctor, so I can rest easily now.

Kaitlyn is teething badly, that's why she's up at all hours of the night. Poor thing. I know she has at least 3 teeth coming in, but there could be more.

Time to go do the dishes and go to bed.

Picture day

Today was picture day for Miss Kaitlyn. She was up numerous times last night, so I thought she was going to be a bear, but it was actually Josh who didn't want to cooperate at the right times.

Pictures were at 12pm. Kaitlyn had a nap and was ready to go. And go did she! She did not want to stand still or sit still for photos. It was hard catching her being still, but my favorite picture was the one of her looking at a book. Adorable! We got a family picture and pictures of Josh and Kaitlyn together. They turned out great over all.

The kids took a nap when we got home and so did I! After they got up the 3 of us went to WalMart for cereal and a few staples. I ended up wowing the cashier with my cereal purchase. I priced match the cereal for $2 each and then I had $1 off coupons for 5 and a free box for the 6th. I bought all Rice Crispy cereal since Josh and Kaitlyn have been enjoying it.

Dinner was shortly after we got home and then it was bath time. Jason got Kaitlyn down and now he's with Josh. I need to check on laundry and get our bed put back together.

Tomorrow brings a new day and lots going on. Appointment for me and hopefully one for Josh. He's having problems and I want to get him checked out. Maybe I can get the kids their flu shots and Kaitlyn her 12 month shots. I wonder if I can get a flu shot while I'm there? It won't hurt to ask.

Super Saturday!

Kaitlyn slept through the night except for 1 waking! Gosh sleep feels so good.

Josh got up at 545am and we hung out in the living room watching tv until 830am when I decided we'd take Tucker and Pico for a walk. I guess Boomer woke Kaitlyn up while we were gone, so after breakfast I took the kids to the library. We got 3 new books, Curious George, a Sesame Street, and one on Planes.

Around 11am the kids and I walked up to get Josh's hair cut. Jason decided he was going to "practice" with Josh this week and told them what was going to happen and he sat very still. When it was his time for a hair cut I put Kaitlyn in the stroller and Josh got in the chair by himself. I told the lady we practiced this week and when she used the clippers to let him see them first before she just started going at it. I think this was the best he did getting his hair cut! I was so proud of him sitting very still. Towards the end he was saying "All done", so she quickly trimmed the rest of his hair.

We got home and Jason and Josh went to the store and I got Kaitlyn down for a nap after a quick lunch. Then Josh and Jason got home and lunch for Josh and nap for him.

Kaitlyn woke up around 230pm and I found out Jason's parents were at the house for the OU game. Judy wanted to run to TJ Maxx, so Kaitlyn and I went with her. I found a lady bug outfit for Kaitlyn for Halloween.

We got home and worked on dinner while the game was on. Jason made ribs and BBQ shrimp. It was so yummy!

I got the kids in the tub and when they got out the game was over. OU won!!! Jason got Kaitlyn in bed right after his parents left and Josh and I watched the monkey movie.

I got Josh in bed and the next thing I know, Kaitlyn's awake. So that's where we're at now. I just changed her and daddy's giving her a bottle.

Good night little loves!

FRIDAY!

Friday is finally here! Kaitlyn got up 4 times last night, again. I'm not sure why, maybe it's the 3 teeth that are coming in!!! They're all the top ones and one of them has fully broken the skin and the other two have a piece sticking out.

Kaitlyn loves the 1 year old room! And the teachers are excited to have her there.

After I picked the kids up we got home and Kaitlyn was wanting a sippy cup, so I gave her a Mickey Mouse one and Josh got so mad. So I told him after dinner we would go to Target and buy sister sippy cups so he could have his. We left Target with $2 remaining on our gift cards! I bought Kaitlyn 2 pairs of size 4 shoes, 1 black and 1 brown, 4 sippy cups for Kaitlyn (all they had were Princess, so that's what she got), 2 sippy cups for Kaitlyn and Josh to share, 1 pack of 7 pairs of Elmo undies for Josh and 3 pairs of trainer underpants for Josh. We're going to work on potty training this weekend with Josh. Every hour on the hour he's going to go try the potty. I'll let you know how it goes.

Both kids were in bed and asleep by 745pm!!!! I'm so excited to have a few hours to do nothing before I go to bed.

Boring Thursday

Well, Josh slept through the night finally. I think he was waking up in middle of the night hungry, so he ate 2 bowls of cereal last night for dinner and he slept the whole night! Kaitlyn on the other hand woke up about 4 times. Thankfully Jason rocked her to sleep so I could get some sleep. I got up the other times in middle of the night.

I got the kids ready for school and when we got there I took Kaitlyn to the 1 year old room and asked if she was to stay there or go to the infant room. They said she could stay there. My baby's growing up!!! She LOVES it in the 1 year old room. She just took off and didn't look back. She went to the table where some kids were sitting and checked out what they were doing, then she went and got some toys and was just all over. It's nice that she doesn't cry like Josh does. To this day, he still cries when we drop him off. It breaks my heart every day! I know he has fun and he knows we'll be back for him, but he just doesn't want us to go.

When I picked them up this afternoon Kaitlyn was in the infant room and Josh was in the 1 year old room. I got Josh and we went to get Kaitlyn. He saw her sitting in a high chair and he said "There she is! Hi Baby!" The teachers all thought that was so sweet.

We got in the car and Josh said he wanted to go see Dr. C. I asked him if his ear hurts (Dr. Chicola is the ENT) and all he would do is cry, "Dr. C. Dr. C." Then it was "Dr. Page" (their doctor). I told him we could go see Dr. C. next month. Then he saw a tractor and that was the end of Dr. C and Dr. Page.

Dinner was not too much fun. The kids didn't want leftovers. I finally got Kaitlyn to eat some oatmeal and Josh some cereal. Then he wanted her oatmeal, so they shared. Then I gave up and let them play. Right before bath time I got them to eat some mandarin oranges, so they should be sort of full for bed.

Bath time was quick, Kaitlyn was in and out, like her usual self. Josh wanted out after Baby got out. I got p.j.'s on and then got a bottle for Kaitlyn. I tried rocking her in the living room, but the tv was on and she wanted no part of sleeping, so off to the bedroom we went. I ended up putting her in the crib with her bottle (I know, this is how ear infections happen).

Josh and I watched Monkey (Dunston Checks In) until 730pm and then it was off to bed for him. I think he fell asleep before 8pm and now I'm ready for bed. I got the dish washer going and the bumper in the dryer. The house looks like a tornado struck, but I don't care! I'll worry about that this weekend.

First blog

On Kaitlyn's first birthday I thought, how cool would it have been to blog about her first year and having a 17 month old too? Then I thought, well, I can blog daily of her second year. Then her and I got sick with pneumonia and I got side tracked. So today is the first day of her second year (in blog years). HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAITLYN!

My goal is to blog a little every day about life with two young kids. I know, it's been done before, but not by me.

As I said in my opening line, we've been sick with pneumonia. I took Kaitlyn for a re-check with her primary and she's still got a bit of congestion, but she's doing well. I need to give her the antibotic that is just riping her little tummy to pieces for the next few days. As soon as she's better I need to take her back to get her 12 month shots (poor little girl, she's not getting a break is she?).

I'm still coughing from my bout of pneumonia, but at least I'm back to work and have my energy back.

Now all I need is for Kaitlyn to start feeling better and sleeping through the night again. She's been waking up 3 to 4 times a night since she's gotten sick. I'm really tired, but I know it'll get better soon.

I love you Miss Priss!!!
