Almost Christmas

It's been awhile since I've blogged about the kids. They've been doing well. Kaitlyn got her 15 month check up and weighs 18 pounds, 15 ounces and 23 1/2 inches long, if I remember correctly. She has the motor skills of an 18 month old since she's using a fork and spoon to eat with and can kick and throw a ball. The doctor wants us to work on body parts now. I told the doctor she knows the body parts if you hold up her clothes and she tries to put on her shoes.

Both her and Josh are enjoying the new daycare still and they haven't gotten sick too much.

Josh went in for his pre-op appointment with Dr. Chicola and he said he wants to wait and due the tubes later, possibly next month, after we complete the hearing test. He wouldn't cooperate when we tried doing the hearing test earlier this month. I'm hoping we can forgo the surgery all together!

Josh has become a huge fan of Christmas! He gets all excited when he sees Christmas lights. He gets really excited when he sees Santa! Santa had visited school and the teachers had to laugh at him. They said he got so excited and ran up to Santa while shouting Santa Santa Santa. I told him Santa will be coming in two days and will leave presents for him, so he's super excited. Kaitlyn is still oblivious to the whole holiday thing, so next year will be all new for her.

I'll try to post after Christmas, but if not, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Bye Bye

Kaitlyn has another ear infection, but the doctor and I are very impressed that she hasn't been to the doctor since September when she had pneumonia.

Tuesday night Boomer got put in timeout in his kennel.

Last night Josh thought I needed to go into timeout. He told me to go up against the wall and sit and stay! I asked what I did and all he would say is Stay! I told him he needs to go to timeout since he was climbing on the couch.

This morning Josh went in and helped me get Kaitlyn up and ready. I was changing her diaper and Josh was closing her bedroom door and waving bye. He called out "Bye"! Babycakes was laying down waving, blowing kisses and then she whispered "Bye bye"!!! This is the first time she said it and I'm so proud of her!

My little girl is growing up so fast it's amazing. Next thing I know she'll be putting me in timeout!

Halloween

It's been forever since I've posted and I'm sorry. Blogging takes a lot more time than I realized. Since I've last posted, Kaitlyn and Josh started a new daycare center and LOVE it!!!! They've been going for 3 weeks and Josh is still excited every morning to go to New School! He sometimes asks on the weekends, New School? He doesn't come home as tired and cranky as he did at La Petite and they have breakfast ready almost every day we get there. Kaitlyn is enjoying it too. They call her K K and I started calling her that too. She's responding really well when you call her name or Babycakes. If she's some where, she'll come find you if you call her. She's also started waving Bye and is blowing kisses now. Sometimes she'll even open her mouth up for a kiss!!!!

Jason, Judy and Charlie are all in Dallas and the boys are in Norman watching an OU football game. Charlie was able to get into a Skybox and entrance to a Tailgate party. I called Jason and he said Charlie was actually on the sidelines at the football game. I have no idea how he scored that, but he did.

I took Josh and Kaitlyn to La Petite today for their fall festival. Josh got his face painted, both kids decorated cookies, they played with bubbles and Josh won a cake doing the cake walk game. After that I bought them french fries for lunch and then it was nap time. I decided on pizza for dinner and when Josh got up from his nap we went and got it. I told them they could have cake with dinner, so they had dessert first, then pizza. I had to throw them in the tub after dinner and then we went to one of the churches for Trunk or Treat. Josh got a good bit of candy, but the biggest thing was the hay ride! A blue tractor pulled us and Josh LOVED it!!!!! He wanted to go again, but I had to tell him no. I let him have 3 pieces of candy tonight and told him he had to save the rest to show dad tomorrow.

I got both kids in bed and I'm heading there shortly. I may go jump in the tub and relax for a few minutes. Tomorrow's going to be another long and full day.

Happy Halloween!!!

Oops

So I've been pretty busy and feel bad for not writing in ages.

This weekend was spent with 2 kids attached to me almost non-stop. Neither wanted Daddy and neither wanted to share Mommy, so that caused lots of tears!

Friday night I gave Kaitlyn a bottle with half soy milk and half regular milk. That did not sit well with her! She woke up with gas pains twice. Poor baby girl. She got a good burp out the first time and then she had a big fart the second time she woke up. That fart must have been the key because she passed out until 730am!

Saturday brought a trip to the library and we checked out a few more books. Then Kaitlyn and I went to Sam's to return the car seat that neither of them liked. We then went to Toys R Us to check out their car seats, but I didn't see any that I cared for. Kaitlyn did find a stuffed puppy that she just "had" to have, so I bought it. She cuddled with it and is really cute when she does, so it was well worth it.

Then one of Jason's friends came over to watch the OU football game. He brought his 2 1/2 year old with him and Josh and her had to check each other out for a bit. They then played together. I did learn you don't mess with Josh and his crayolas. She started to color on his paper and fists went flying, on both sides. I had to get between them and it took some time to get them apart, but I finally did. Around 930pm Josh was asking to go to bed, so I got him down and Genevieve was still going strong. I went to bed at 10pm and she was still playing.

We got up to rain on Sunday, so that wasn't much of a fun day. We did get pizza and breadsticks for lunch and Josh loved the bread sticks. He ate a little pizza and Kaitlyn just eats everything, she's not picky.

Later we all went to Target and got 2 new car seats, so tee shirts, 2 baseball caps, socks for both kids and a toy for a birthday party on Saturday.

Josh then woke up this morning in a great mood. He went and pee peed on the potty first thing, then went and got some juice! Mommy was so proud of him. Then I put on some new socks that we bought yesterday and they are big boy socks. They come half way up his shins! He had to go show Daddy and he was so proud of himself. Jason took Josh to school while I got Kaitlyn ready to go get her 12 month shots.

I felt bad for her, but I know it's for a good cause. I don't want her getting really sick. I then took her to daycare and I was off to work.

After a good day at work, me and Angi, my co-worker, went and met an employee who's down from DC at McGuires for dinner. I had a petite steak and it was very good. We sat around for 45 minutes after dinner and just chatted.

Jason took the kids to Barnes and Noble to see Winnie the Pooh, but got there right as the person was getting ready to change out of the costume. I guess Josh was attached to Jason's leg, but kind of liked it. Kaitlyn was okay with Winnie, but not overly excited. Then he took them to Whataburger for dinner. I called them right as Kaitlyn knocked over Jason's tea, so he couldn't talk.

I got home in time to try and put Kaitlyn down for bed, but she wasn't ready. Her and Josh played for a bit until he pushed her over and she hit my computer chair. He's gotten pretty rough lately and I don't care for it, so we'll have to work on correcting that.

I got Kaitlyn asleep and then sat with Josh while he watched Handy Manny then it was off to the bathroom one last time before bed for him. He made big pee pee's and did his little dance! I laid in bed with him until he was done with him milk and I told him I had to go and he was fine with it.

Now it's time to go change out of my work clothes and watch some tv before bed!

Dogs- 3, Kaitlyn- 3

So I went to bed at 9:15pm hoping for a good nights rest. What was I thinking? Was there a full moon?

I opened the windows last night in the kitchen and 1 in the living room and turned off the A/C. This could be the reason the dogs had to get up 3 times last night starting at 11pm. They were up at 11pm, 12 am and 2am. They went outside and did their stuff and came back to bed. That's great seeing as though they didn't mess in the house.

Kaitlyn decided to wake up at 1am, 3am and 4am. The 4am was to change a dirty diaper and the other 2 were because of habit (?) or she was in pain. I gave her some milk and she went back to sleep with no problem.

Josh slept the whole night. He woke up and wanted to snuggle in his blanket and he watched The Hulk (a cartoon Jason taped for him that has the Hulk in it). He didn't want to get changed out of his jammies because it was cold, but he did it and was fine.

In the car on the way to school Kaitlyn decided she didn't want her shoes on. She kicked and rubbed them against her car seat until they came off. Next were the socks! She's too funny with that. Josh decided since sister wasn't wearing her socks or shoes he was going to take his off. Thankfully he only got on foot uncovered before we got to school. I carried them both in and the teachers laughed at them. I told them what happened and they thought it was funny. I have no idea how I'm going to keep socks and shoes on Kaitlyn.

Not another one

So I got a call from Daycare at 3pm. I said, which one is it? Ms. Barbara said Josh was throwing up. I asked if he had been coughing and she said the teacher said no. I packed up and went and got him. When I got to daycare I asked if it was just my kids that got sick so much and Ms. Barbara said I didn't have to take him to the doctor. We both felt he was probably coughing and threw up. I told him I had to go get his stuff and he was concerned that we were leaving Baby. I told him daddy was going to get her. With how Kaitlyn has been feeling and not knowing how Josh was going to be I didn't want to shoot myself in the foot.

We got home and you couldn't even tell Josh was feeling bad. No fever, no nothing. He did complain a few times that his belly hurt, but he never threw up. I'm not sure what's going on.

Jason got home and Kaitlyn was in a great mood. After dinner, which was ready when they got home, Josh and Kaitlyn played for a bit. I haven't heard her giggle so much in a long time. That was sweet music to my ears. She was running after Josh and his blanket and it was so cute watching her run.

They're both in bed, I took a nice warm bath and I'm about to go read my book. Hopefully I'll be done with it soon.

Spidey Josh

Poor Kaitlyn. I feel so sorry for her. Her teeth are bothering her so bad. I was able to get a few giggles out of her this weekend, but she mostly wanted to be held.

She did have her first taste of ice cream and LOVED it! It probably felt really good on her gums too. She did have some bad gas in middle of the night, so hopefully it doesn't bother her too much.

I went out while Josh was napping and went grocery shopping. While at Wal-Mart I found a Spider Man costume for Josh. I brought it home and showed Jason and he liked it but the mask. I told him, do you really think Josh will wear the mask? He said, good point. So after Kaitlyn went to bed Jason decided to show Josh his costume. He LOVED it!!! He tried it on over his p.j.'s and didn't want to take it off. I told him he could wear it to bed, but we had to change his diaper and take off his jammies. He slept in it and when he got up this morning he was in such a good mood because he was still wearing his costume. The bad part, he doesn't want to take it off for school.

We did do a family outing yesterday. We took the recycling to the recycling center! I'm so proud of us. I need to call our current garbage company and find out if they're going to start recycling soon and if not, we're changing, because I hate throwing recycling stuff away. We took a lot of cardboard boxes, newspapers and glass. I want to start with the juice bottles, plastics, so maybe this time I'll do that.

That's all for now. Let's see what fun we can have today!
